DIY Blind Tasting- Whiskies of the World

Whether you’re a novice or an expert, blind tastings are the best way to unlock and develop your palate. This is why every tasting that I host is blind. It will also help you understand what characteristics you enjoy most in whiskies. Is it the fruity aromas on the nose, the rich texture of a silky mouthfeel, the spicy flavors on the palate or the length of the leathery finish? Am I just listing things I love in good whiskies? Maybe. But if you’re thinking that there’s no way that there is that much going on when you taste a whiskey, then blind tastings are just the practice you need to develop those whiskey descriptors. Plus, blind tastings are so much fun! And now you don’t have to wait for me to host a tasting event that works for your schedule. You can do a tasting on your own (or with friends/family) with the DIY Blind Tasting! For the Whiskies of the World package I have specially selected four different styles of whiskies from all around the world to represent the wide range of whiskies available. Each of these whiskies are pretty unique and the odds are that you haven’t tried them before. Meaning, you won’t find Jack Daniel’s, Jameson or Johnny Walker anywhere near the tasting package.

One tasting package can be shared among up to four people… that is, if you want to share.

What’s included:

  • Four different whiskies from around the world (2 oz each)

  • Instructions to guide you through the blind tasting with ease

  • Informational tasting sheet to keep track of your tasting notes & provide some basic information about whiskey

  • Hints to help you guess which whiskey was which after you’ve tasted them

  • Answers to reveal the four whiskies

Since it’s 2021 and we’re all traveling again, I created tasters that you can take with you anywhere you go! They’re small and hard to break, making them easy to pack in a carry on. All you need is a few vials of booze and you’ve got yourself an in-flight tasting!
